The Wellington County Learning Centre promotes a learner-centred approach to literacy upgrading. This means learners direct their own learning and set their own goals - both long term and short term.

Adult Programs
Literacy Upgrading for adult residents of rural Wellington County. Includes help with literacy, numeracy, resume development, basic computers and workforce literacy. Funding by the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities, Skill Investment Branch.

Math For Work
This program is for adults who do not have their highschool diploma and are interested in learning math skills for retail, manufacturing and entry level positions.  Learn practical math for work.  This is an intensive program that starts July 12th and ends August 20th.  The program is 9 hours per week and you must attend all classes.  Call the Learning Centre to register.  

Youth Programs
Working one-to-one with youth (ages 8 to 18) still in school and living in Wellington County. Funded by United Way. 

Math For YOUth Summer Program
This program is geared to youth who struggled with math while in school this past year.  The program is designed to review and maintain skills learned in math in order to be ready for school in September.  The program runs this summer from July 6th to July 29th, two mornings per week.  Call the Learning Centre to register.

Academic Upgrading ( AU ) program, Conestoga College - Arthur Campus 
The AU program at the Learning Centre is an adult upgrading program for adult students seeking admission to a post secondary college program or apprenticeship training who do not have an OSSD and those who do have an OSSD but are missing specific courses required for post secondary admission. The right AU and ACE courses make students eligible to enter post secondary or apprenticeship training without a Grade 12.

General Education Development (GED)
Recognized by colleges, apprenticeship and employers an an equivalent to an OSSD. GED preparation available at the Learning Centre.
