About the Learning Centre
The Learning Center was founded on the belief that every student has the ability to learn. The Wellington County Learning Centre has been around for 25 years. During this time the centre has evolved and grown to meet the needs of the communities it serves.
Our youth programs serve students from kindergarten age through highschool with tutoring programs, parent assistance, independent learning help and training workshops.
Our adult programs serve adults looking to upgrade their basic skills, obtain their GED, transition to postsecondary programs and upgrade and prepare for apprenticeship training.
Our employment preparation programs include, “Let’s Get Real Employment for YOUth”, and certificate programs such as, “Smart Serve”, “Safe Food Handling”, “Workplace Safety” and “Whimis”.
We have developed partnerships with 2nd Chance Employment Counselling, Northern Lights and Ontario Works. Our staff has helped more than 400 students improve their study habits, comprehension, and test-taking skills. As a result, these students have earned better test scores and grades, and grown in self-esteem and confidence. We love celebrating these victories with our students!
